Overview

To reduce the risk of account takeover and unauthorised login, Ripple supports identity verification using your email address (two-factor authentication) in addition to the standard password authentication. This guide walks you through how to set up email authentication in Ripple.

How to Set Up Email Authentication

  1. From the left menu, click Settings > User Settings

  2. Click Set Up Email Authentication

  3. A code delivery screen will appear — if everything looks correct, click Send Code

  4. A verification code will be sent to the email address registered to your account

  5. Enter the code to activate email authentication

Note: Email authentication will be required for all subsequent logins after activation.

Additional Feature Details

Changes to the login flow

After entering your email address and password on the login screen, a 6-digit verification code will be automatically sent to your registered email address. Enter this code on the login screen to complete the login process.

Enabling / Disabling the feature

This feature is provided as an optional function. You can toggle it on or off at any time from Ripple's > Settings page. We strongly recommend enabling it to improve security.
