Wave – Email Authentication at Login

Step-by-step guide for enabling Wave email authentication.

Written by Yo Fukuda

Overview

This article explains how to enable and use email authentication when logging in to Wave.

To reduce the risk of account takeover and unauthorised access, Wave adds an identity verification step using your registered email address, in addition to the standard password-based login.

Setup

  1. Log in to Wave and open Preferences from the left-side menu

  2. Open My Account

  3. Enable the Email Authentication setting

  4. Once enabled, a verification code will be sent to your registered email address each time you log in

  5. From your next login onwards, complete sign-in by entering the verification code sent to your email

Login Flow

  1. Enter your email address and password on the login screen

  2. A verification code entry screen will appear

  3. Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your registered email address

  4. Once verified, you will be logged in to Wave

Additional Details

🔐 This feature adds an extra layer of security by requiring a verification code sent by email in addition to your password. It is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time from PreferencesMy Account. We recommend keeping it enabled to protect your account.

📬 Verification emails are usually delivered within a few seconds. If you don't see it, please check your spam or junk mail folder.
