Overview

This guide walks you through how to configure IP address restrictions in Ripple. This feature controls access based on the source IP address, helping to prevent unauthorised access and strengthen your security policies.

By using this feature, you can restrict access so that only connections from your internal network or specific locations are permitted.

How to Configure

Adding a Setting

  1. From the left menu, click Settings > IP Configuration

  2. Click + Add IP

  3. Enter the IP address and configure the following:

    • Type — Whitelist or Blacklist

    • Scope — Select the target user(s)

  4. Click Add IP

Editing and Deleting

To edit or delete an existing setting, click ... next to the configured IP address.

Important Notes

  • Root users only — As this is a critical security-related setting, only the root user of Ripple can configure or modify it, regardless of admin privileges. Sub-user accounts cannot access or change the settings screen

  • Whitelist / Blacklist:

    • Whitelist — Only allows access from permitted IP addresses and blocks all others (recommended)

    • Blacklist — Denies access from specified IP addresses and allows all others

  • Multiple entries supported — You can register and manage multiple rules simultaneously, including individual IP addresses or range specifications in CIDR format
