To enhance security, we have added an IP address configuration feature. This document describes how to use and configure this feature.

IP Address Restriction Feature

We have added a feature to control access based on the source IP address, with the goal of preventing unauthorized access and strengthening security policies. By using this feature, you can restrict access so that only connections from your internal network or specific locations are permitted.

Configuration Steps

Adding a setting:

  1. Navigate to "Settings""IP Configuration" in the left panel of Ripple

  2. Click + Add IP

  3. Enter the IP address you want to configure:

    • Type: Whitelist or Blacklist

    • Scope: Select the target user(s)

  4. Click Add IP

Editing and Deleting

To edit or delete an existing setting, click the "···" menu next to the configured IP address.

Additional Feature Details

  • Root users only: Because this setting is a critical security-related item, only the root user of Ripple (regardless of whether they have admin privileges) can configure or modify it. Accounts with sub-user permissions cannot access or change the settings screen.

  • Where to configure: Settings can be accessed from Ripple's Settings page within the Ripple admin console.

  • Whitelist / Blacklist approach: You can choose either of the following methods to match your operational policy:

    • Whitelist: Only allows access from permitted IP addresses and blocks all others (recommended).

    • Blacklist: Denies access from specified IP addresses and allows all others.

  • Multiple entries supported: You can register and manage multiple rules simultaneously, including individual IP addresses or range specifications in CIDR format.
