Overview
By default, Ripple displays only the minimum required items on an invoice. This guide walks you through how to add additional billable items or apply deductions — such as special discounts — beyond the default configuration.
This feature is useful when you want to include additional costs such as:
Development costs
Operation and maintenance costs
License fees
It can also be used to apply deductions for items such as special discounts.
Step 1: Register Additional Items
Additional items can be configured on a per-Billing Group basis.
From the left menu, click Account/Group > Billing Groups.
Click
...next to the relevant Billing Group and select Edit Billing Group.In the Miscellaneous section, click + Add Item.
Fill in the Item Name, Unit Cost, and Quantity, then click Create.
Check the box next to the item and click Save to register.
Note: If you uncheck the box to the left of an additional item, the data will be saved but the item will not appear on the invoice.
Step 2: Reflect Additional Items on Invoices
For Months Where the Invoice Has Not Yet Been Created
If the invoice has not yet been created for a given month, the settings configured on the Billing Group page will be reflected automatically. Simply creating the invoice will include the additional items registered in Step 1 — no further action is required.
For Months Where the Invoice Has Already Been Created
If you want to reflect additional items on an invoice that has already been created, please follow these steps:
From the left menu, click Invoices > Invoice Management and select the relevant Billing Group.
In the top right corner, click Edit Settings.
Under Invoice Settings, select the relevant cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
On the Change Invoice Settings screen, click Revert to Billing Group Settings in the bottom left corner to apply the settings configured on the Billing Group page.
Make any necessary changes and click Change Settings.
Recreate the invoice for the relevant Billing Group — the additional items will now be reflected.
