Ripple - Cost Calculation with Unblended Rate

How to configure Unblended Rate cost calculation for a Billing Group in Ripple.

Written by Yo Fukuda

Overview

By default, Ripple calculates costs using its own unique logic called True Unblended Cost.

You can switch to AWS Unblended Cost at the Billing Group level when creating a new Billing Group. AWS Unblended Cost is based on Amazon's own cost calculation logic, so the figures generated will match the billing amounts received directly from AWS.

How to Configure

  1. From the left menu, click Account/Group > Billing Groups.

  2. Click + Create Billing Group in the top right corner.

  3. Under Basic Settings, change the Calculation Type to Unblended (the default is True Unblended).

  4. Complete any other Billing Group settings and save.

Once configured, you can confirm the setting in the Billing Group details.

Important Notes

The Calculation Type can only be selected at the time of Billing Group creation. It cannot be changed once the Billing Group has been created, so please choose carefully during setup.
