Ripple – Azure CSP Billing

Understanding Azure CSP billing features, invoice workflow, and cost configuration options in Ripple.

Written by Yo Fukuda

Overview

This guide explains how Azure CSP billing works in Ripple, including the standard invoicing workflow and key configuration options available for Azure accounts.

Prerequisites

To retrieve Azure cost data, Ripple uses the Microsoft Partner Center API. You must register your Partner Center account and grant Ripple access before Azure billing features can be used:

How to Use Azure Features in Ripple

Once your Azure account is connected, follow these steps to aggregate costs and generate invoices:

  1. Go to Account/Group in the left menu and add your Azure account

  2. Go to Billing Group and create a Billing Group

  3. On the Dashboard, click Azure to begin the billing aggregation process

  4. Once aggregation is complete, click Create Invoice to generate your invoice

Managing multiple cloud providers? To consolidate AWS, GCP, and Azure into a single invoice, link all provider accounts to the same Billing Group. To invoice each provider separately, create a dedicated Billing Group per provider.

Billing Configuration Options

Adjusting Entries

Azure cost data is split into multiple categories, including License, Software, Azure usage, and MS365. You can configure which categories are included in your invoices by default.

Notes If no configuration is set, all categories other than Azure usage will be consolidated into Adjusting Entries.

Free Tier

For Azure accounts, you can choose whether to apply the free tier when calculating costs, or to calculate at full list price without applying the free tier.
