Overview

This guide walks you through how to create Billing Groups based on Azure Resource Groups in Ripple.

Azure allows resources to be organised into Resource Groups for various purposes such as environments or projects. Resource Groups enable policy configuration and bulk management at the group level.

Ripple supports cost management at the Resource Group level. When creating a Billing Group, you can select specific Resource Groups to aggregate and view a cost breakdown per Resource Group.

How to Create a Billing Group by Resource Group

  1. From the left menu in Ripple, go to Account/Group > Billing Group

  2. Click +Create Billing Group in the top right corner

  3. Under the Billing Group settings, go to Resource Settings and select a subscription

  4. After selecting a subscription, click the settings icon to the right of Microsoft Azure and select Resource Group — the invoice will then display a breakdown aggregated at the Resource Group level

Notes The invoice display shown below uses demo data — amounts and service names may differ from actual data.

Notes

  • Resource Group display settings can be updated after a Billing Group has been created

  • All Resource Groups under the selected subscription will be retrieved and displayed in the invoice breakdown
