What is an Untagged Group?

An Untagged Group is used to aggregate resources that do not have tags within the specific account.

Untagged = Resources without tags

Furthermore, this Untagged Group can be linked to a billing group created with tags, allowing its costs to be included in invoices using any desired allocation method.

How to Create an Non-Tag Group

1. From the Ripple menu, click Account/Group > Untagged Groups > + Create Untagged group.

2. Enter a group name and select the account(s) containing the untagged resources to be included.

3. Click the Create button in the bottom-right corner to create the Untagged Group.

Once created, the Untagged Group will begin aggregating the costs of untagged resources from the selected accounts.

How to Include Untagged Resources in a Billing Group

1. Create a Tag-Based Billing Group

Please refer to the link below for instructions on creating tag-based billing groups.

2. Select the Untagged Group to Include in the Billing Group

3. Set the Allocation Percentage for the Untagged Group(s)

For Example: If you want to allocate 20% to the billing group you are creating, set it to 20%.

You have now linked the Untagged Group to your billing group. The invoice will display the amount under "Untagged Resources" according to the allocation method you've set.

Viewing Untagged Costs in WavePro

By including untagged resources in a billing group, you will also be able to see the breakdown of untagged costs within WavePro.

  1. Follow the steps above to link an Untagged Group to a billing group. If you're splitting and allocating the costs, specify the percentage during the setup.

  2. Create a WavePro account and link it to the billing group you configured.

  3. Log in to WavePro and go to Usage Reports section.

  4. Click "Cross Tag" to display a list of tags, including untagged resources. Select "Non tag" to view the report.
