Overview

This article explains how to create an Untagged Group for use when generating tag-based invoices.

For instructions on how to create tag-based invoices, please refer to the link below:

What is an Untagged Group?

An Untagged Group is used to aggregate resources that do not have tags within a specific account.

Untagged = Resources without tags

An Untagged Group can be linked to a Billing Group created with tags, allowing its costs to be included in invoices using any desired allocation method.

How to Create an Untagged Group

  1. From the left menu, click Account/Group > Untagged Groups, then click +Create Untagged Group.

  2. Enter a group name and select the account(s) whose untagged resources you want to aggregate.

  3. Click the Create button in the bottom right corner.

How to Include Untagged Resources in a Billing Group

  1. Create a tag-based Billing Group. Please refer to the link below for instructions:

  2. Select the Untagged Group(s) to include in the Billing Group.

  3. Set the allocation percentage for the Untagged Group. For example, if you want to allocate 20% to the Billing Group, set it to 20%.

The Untagged Group is now linked to the Billing Group. The invoice will display the amount under "Untagged Resources" according to the allocation method you have set.

Viewing Untagged Costs in WavePro

By linking an Untagged Group to a Billing Group, you will also be able to see the breakdown of untagged costs in WavePro.

  1. Follow the steps above to link an Untagged Group to a Billing Group. If splitting costs, specify the allocation percentage during setup.

  2. Create a WavePro account and link it to the Billing Group you configured.

  3. Log in to WavePro and navigate to Reports.

  4. Click Cross Tag to display a list of tags including untagged resources. Select Non Tag to view the report.
