Overview

This guide walks you through how to use the Aqua Feature Management function to control which Aqua features each Wave User can access.

Feature visibility can be controlled on a per-page basis within Aqua:

  • Instance Usage — Displays usage status of managed instances

    • Utilisation Rate — Shows the coverage rate for Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot Instances, and on-demand usage

  • Instance Reservation Management — Enables monitoring of purchased RIs and SPs, including application status

    • RI Management — Displays a list of purchased RIs

    • SP Management — Displays a list of purchased SPs

  • Recommendations — Displays cost reduction recommendations

    • RI/SP Instances — Recommends RIs and SPs available for purchase

    • Size Optimisation — Lists instances where size changes based on CPU and memory data could reduce costs

    • Schedule — Displays instances where there are time periods during which they could be stopped based on usage patterns

Example use case: You can configure Aqua to display RI and SP recommendations, allowing Wave users to review and consider purchasing RIs and SPs directly. Features can also be hidden if not needed.
