Ripple – Azure Onboarding (Indirect CSP)

How to connect your Azure CSP cost data to Ripple if you operate as an Indirect Reseller.

Written by Alphaus Support Team

Overview

This guide is for organisations that operate as Indirect Resellers in the Azure CSP model. If your organisation purchases Azure licenses through a Tier-1 distributor (rather than directly from Microsoft), the standard Partner Center API integration does not apply to you.

In this case, billing data flows from Microsoft through your distributor — not directly to you. Ripple integrates with your distributor's API on the backend to retrieve your billing data.

💡 Not sure which model you're on? If you have a direct relationship with Microsoft and access to Partner Center billing data, use the Direct CSP setup guide instead.

What You Need to Do

Because billing data comes from your distributor, you'll need to provide Ripple with API credentials from your distributor's reseller portal — not from Microsoft Partner Center.

The steps below walk you through what to gather and who to contact.

Step 1: Identify Your Tier-1 Distributor

You must know which distributor you purchase your Azure licenses through. The major global distributors each provide a dedicated reseller API:

Distributor

API

Arrow Electronics

ArrowSphere Reseller API

Ingram Micro

CloudBlue / Cloud Marketplace API

TD SYNNEX

Stellar Marketplace API

Pax8

Pax8 Developer API

If your distributor is not listed above, contact your account manager and we'll confirm compatibility.

Step 2: Request API Credentials from Your Distributor

Log in to your distributor's reseller portal and request API access. You (or your account manager at the distributor) will need to generate the following:

  • API Client ID

  • Client Secret

  • Reseller Token / Reseller ID

💡 Unlike Microsoft's Partner Center OAuth2 flow, most distributor APIs use static, long-lived API keys or automated Machine-to-Machine (M2M) token exchanges — so this process is generally simpler.

Step 3: Share Your Credentials with Alphaus

Once you have your credentials, share them securely with your Alphaus account manager or contact us at ripple_cs@alphaus.cloud.

Our team will use these credentials to integrate your distributor's API with Ripple, so your billing data is fetched automatically from the correct source.

⚠️ Note: Inside your distributor's system, your end-customer accounts are identified by the distributor's own internal billing account keys — not solely by their Microsoft tenant ID. Alphaus handles this mapping on the backend; no action is required from you.
