1. Executive Summary

This document defines the specification changes in Ripple's billing settings functionality following the AWS Support plan updates. It aims to provide an environment within Ripple where both legacy and new support plans, introduced by AWS in December 2025, can be appropriately selected and calculated.

  • Purpose: To expand AWS Support plan options and implement calculation logic within Ripple billing settings.

  • Target Audience: System Administrators, Operations Managers, Finance Staff.

  • Effective Date: Applicable for usage from December 2025 onwards.

2. Overview of Changes

2.1 Summary

New AWS Support plans have been added as selectable options in the Ripple billing settings screen, alongside the existing legacy plans. This allows administrators to reflect the optimal plan settings for each AWS account within Ripple.

2.2 Background

In December 2025, AWS significantly revised its support plans. New plans integrated with AI capabilities (such as Business Support+ and the new Enterprise Support) were introduced with changed pricing structures. Ripple must accommodate these new structures.

2.3 Impact on Ripple Billing Settings

  • Existing Settings: Accounts configured with legacy support plans will maintain their settings and can continue to use them.

  • New Settings: New plans will be added to dropdown menus and selection interfaces.

4. Calculation Logic

Support fees are calculated based on AWS Premium Support pricing table (URL : https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/pricing/ ).

* For tiered pricing plans, different support rates apply to different usage ranges. The total calculated support fee is then compared against the minimum monthly fee, with the higher amount charged.

5. Important Notes

⚠️ About Customizing Calculation Methods

Support fee calculations in Ripple are implemented in accordance with the official AWS pricing table.

  • If you require customizations different from the standard specifications (e.g., changing minimum fees or specific rates), please contact Alphaus directly.

  • Ripple does not provide a feature for customers to modify calculation logic themselves.

ℹ️ About Usage Types

Support fees for new plans (Business Support+, Enterprise Support, etc.) are recorded as "Usage" types within the Ripple system.

This is handled the same way as legacy support fees, and the same settings for reflecting costs in recalculated billing data apply. No additional configuration is required from the customer side regarding data handling.

6. Ripple Billing Configuration Procedures

6.1 How to Select a Support Plan

  1. Log in to the Ripple management console.

  2. Navigate to the Billing Groups screen.

  3. Select the target AWS account and click Edit.

  4. Click on the AWS Support Plan drop-down menu.

  5. Select the desired plan (e.g., Business Support+).

  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

6.2 How to Switch to a New Plan

After updating the support plan in AWS, you must also update the corresponding setting in Ripple.

  1. Verify that the plan change has been completed in the AWS Management Console.

  2. Update the setting in Ripple following the procedure described in 6.1 before the next billing calculation process runs.

  3. When the first invoice is issued after the change, confirm that the new plan's calculation logic has been applied correctly.

6.3 Verification Method

After saving settings, you can verify the applied rates and calculation results by checking the AWS Support item details on the invoice preview screen.

7. Migration Information

7.1 Migration Schedule

  • Legacy Plan Expiration: Until January 1, 2027 (based on AWS announcements).

  • Recommended Migration Time: We recommend evaluating cost-effectiveness and migrating to new plans during 2026.

7.2 Migration Precautions

  • If you change your support plan in AWS mid-month, AWS may prorate the charges. Depending on when the corresponding settings are updated in Ripple, calculation discrepancies may occur. We recommend reviewing invoice details for the month in which the change was made.

  • For any questions regarding plan migration, please contact our support desk.

8. FAQ

Q1: Is it mandatory to migrate from legacy plans to new plans?
A: No, it is not mandatory at this time. You may continue using legacy plans until January 1, 2027.

Q2: How can I request changes to calculation methods (e.g., adjusting minimum fees)?
A: Standard features do not support this. Please contact your Alphaus representative directly, and we will guide you through individual configuration support.

Q3: Can you explain more about fees being recorded as Usage types?
A: Support fees are treated as "Usage" within the system, similar to EC2 or S3 charges. This enables cost analysis including support fees using existing reporting and aggregation functions.

Q4: Can I change settings for multiple AWS accounts at once?
A: Yes, bulk updates are possible using features like CSV import. Please refer to the Ripple Operation Manual for detailed instructions.
