Overview

This guide walks you through the cost monitoring, reporting, and CSV download features available for Azure in Wave.

Wave allows you to monitor Azure cost trends on a monthly and daily basis. You can view detailed reports for each month and track Azure cost information across all subscriptions.

The following features are available by default:

  • Monthly and daily cost graphs

  • Cost report view (detailed cost breakdown)

  • Budget configuration

  • Invoice review

  • Cost data download (CSV)

Notes Sub-user management via RBAC is also available. You can create Wave users per department, allowing each team member to monitor their resource costs independently.

How to Navigate the Dashboard

  • Dashboard — Displays the total cost trend across all subscriptions

  • Reports — Displays cost trends per subscription. Click Report for a more detailed breakdown, including the cumulative cost for the current month and past months displayed by month

Notes Amounts displayed in Reports are shown in USD, excluding tax.

  • Reserved Instances (RI) — If you have purchased RIs, this section displays the purchased RIs and their utilisation rates

  • Billing Statement — View your invoice information

How to Download CSV Data

Wave supports three types of CSV downloads:

  1. Bulk download — Contains cost data for all subscriptions

  2. Wave report — Contains detailed cost data for each month

  3. Billing data — Contains invoice and billing information
