Overview
This guide walks you through how to read and interpret the report and CSV data displayed in Wave.
Wave Report
Service Categories
Services displayed in Wave are categorised in the same way as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Each service entry shows the following:
Column | Description |
Type / Region | Region and service description |
Usage | Usage quantity for each service |
Amount | Charge for each service |
Important Notes
Elastic Block Store (EBS): Both pay-as-you-go and fixed charges for EBS are categorised under EC2
AWS Data Transfer: Data transfer charges from EC2 are categorised as AWS Data Transfer. Other data transfer charges are similarly separated into their own categories
Report items are displayed so that the following combination of fields is unique per row:
Product Code
Service Code
Region
Zone
Usage Type
Instance Type
Operation
Invoice ID
Description
CSV Report
Column | Description |
AccountID | The account ID for this line item. Since reports are displayed and downloaded per account, only one ID appears per CSV |
ServiceCode | The product code for the product associated with this line item |
CostBeforeTax | The unblended monthly usage charge excluding tax, displayed to two decimal places |
Region | The region where the service was used |
UsageQuantity | The usage quantity incurred during the specified period |
InstanceType | The instance type |
ItemDescription | A description of the line item type — for example, a usage line item summarises the usage type that occurred during a specific period |
UsageType | Detailed usage information for this line item — e.g., |
Operation | The specific AWS operation associated with this line item — e.g., |
ProductFamily | The product type category |
Data Availability
Wave displays and allows download of up to the past 1 year of usage data. If you need data older than 1 year, please contact Alphaus.
CSV data in the same format as the Wave download can also be provided by Alphaus for a specified billing period upon request.
Bulk Download
The Bulk Download feature allows you to download multiple CSVs at once.
Resources with no tags applied (nontag) are not included in the bulk download. Please ensure tags are applied before using the bulk download feature.
