Overview

This guide walks you through the Azure CSP features available in Ripple and Wave, including setup requirements, core functionality, and billing configuration options.

Before You Begin

Before registering your Azure account in Ripple, you will need to grant Ripple access to your Azure cost data.

Azure uses an API called Partner Center to retrieve cost data. Please complete the setup described in the following article before proceeding:

How to Use Azure Features in Ripple

Once set up, Azure costs can be automatically calculated in Ripple. The workflow for usage and invoice configuration follows the same steps outlined below:

  1. Go to Account/Group in the left menu and add your Azure account

  2. Go to Billing Group and create a Billing Group

  3. On the Dashboard, click Azure to begin the billing aggregation process

  4. Once aggregation is complete, click Create Invoice to generate your invoice

Notes If you want to generate separate invoices for AWS, GCP, and Azure, you can do so at the Billing Group level. By linking each provider's accounts to the same Billing Group, costs will be consolidated into a single invoice. Alternatively, if you prefer to manage costs and invoices separately per provider, create separate Billing Groups for each.

Additional Notes

Adjusting Entries

Azure allows you to select which cost categories to include in your invoices by default.

Azure has multiple cost categories — such as License, Software, Azure usage, and MS365 — and you can choose which to include when generating an invoice.

Notes If no configuration is set, all categories other than Azure usage will be consolidated into Adjusting Entries.

Free Tier

For Azure accounts, you can choose whether to apply the free tier when calculating costs, or to calculate at full list price without applying the free tier.
