Overview
Guaranteed Commitments spans all reservable services across major cloud providers. MSP partners and their clients can offer and manage them for any service that supports native commitments — and this document is the complete reference for what's available across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
Key Concepts and Definitions
Before reviewing the service coverage tables, ensure that the following terms are understood as used in this article.
Reserved Instances (RI): A pricing model offered by AWS that provides a significant discount compared to on-demand pricing in exchange for a 1-year or 3-year usage commitment for a specific instance type and region.
Savings Plan (SP): A flexible pricing model from AWS that offers savings of up to 66% in exchange for a commitment to a consistent amount of compute usage (measured in $/hour) over 1 or 3 years and is offered across EC2, Lambda, Fargate, and SageMaker.
Azure Reservations: Microsoft Azure's equivalent of Reserved Instances. Azure Reservations provide discounted pricing in exchange for a 1-year or 3-year commitment to a specific resource type and region, applicable across services such as Virtual Machines, SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and more.
Azure Savings Plans for Compute: A flexible pricing model from Microsoft Azure that offers savings in exchange for a commitment to a consistent hourly spend on compute resources over 1 or 3 years, applicable across Virtual Machines, Container Instances, and Azure Dedicated Hosts — regardless of region or instance type.
Committed Use Discounts (CUDs): Google Cloud’s equivalent of RI/SP. CUDs provide discounted prices in exchange for committing to use a minimum level of resources in a particular region for a 1-year or 3-year term. Available as a Resource-based or Spend-based.

Coverage Scope and Conditions
The following conditions apply to all services listed in the above section:
Qualifying Criteria
The service must support a native commitment option (RI, SP, Reservation, or CUD) from the cloud provider.
The service must support a native AWS RI/SP, Azure RI/SP, or GCP CUD (or equivalent commitment) as documented by the cloud provider.
The commitment must be purchased through an eligible payer account managed by the MSP via Ripple.
💡Note (as of May 2026): Guaranteed Commitments currently supports AWS only. Azure and Google Cloud coverage is planned for future releases.
Commitment Term Requirements
30-day Minimum Term: Applicable under the Flexible Plan, Non-refundable for the first 30-days and renews monthly thereafter.
1-year Minimum Term: Applicable under the High Discount Plan. Non-refundable for the 1st year and renews annually thereafter.
Regional and Instance-Type Considerations
Commitment eligibility may vary by region, instance family, or service tier depending on the cloud provider. MSP partners should verify availability in their target region using the respective cloud provider’s documentation before offering a plan to end-user companies.
Eligible Account Types
AWS: Organizations payer accounts with linked child accounts.
Azure: Enterprise Agreement (EA) and Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA)
Google Cloud: Billing accounts with active projects under a committed organization.
Out-of-Scope Services
Following the coverage scopes and conditions, let's talk about the services that are not covered by Guaranteed Commitments. This section indicates which service types are not eligible for Guaranteed Commitments coverage:
On-demand only services — services that do not offer any commitment or reservation pricing from the cloud provider.
Spot and preemptible instances — AWS Spot Instances, Azure Spot VMs, and Google Cloud Preemptible/Spot VMs are not reservable and are excluded.
Free tier services — services operating under a cloud service provider’s free tier are not eligible.
Services in unsupported regions — where a native commitment option is not yet available from the provider.
If a service or region is not listed in this document, MSP partners should verify directly with Alphaus before communicating eligibility to end-user companies.
